SIGIR is the major international forum for the presentation of new research results and the demonstration of new systems and techniques in the broad field of information retrieval. SIGIR 2009 will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel and at Northeastern University. We hope you can join us in Boston this summer.
Registration is open and the conference hotel is accepting reservations.
Announcements
- [June 29] Three special tourism events have been added to the schedule: a panoramic view of the city on Sunday, a famous duck boat tour on Saturday, and a sunset harbor cruise on Wednesday. Look under "Boston" on the left for more information. Two of the events require sufficient interest to occur, so please fill out the questionnaire on that page.
- [June 17] We have added an Industry Track option for student registration. This reduced rate allows a student to attend the conference on Wednesday only, though registration for tutorials and workshops is also available separately.
- [June 5] All dormitory housing requests made to date will be honored.
- [May 28] We expect to honor all dormitory housing requests made to date. Additional rooms continue to be available.

- Google's conference and travel grant for women extended to all IR students, not just PhD students
